Sunday Feb 13th

Sunday was a bit of a frustrating sail. As ever in a S'ly it's never as windy on the water as that being recorded it seems.

I went 4.7 & Twinser 74 which was fine out the back, but it was getting out there that was hard!

I sailed down to Shoreham, which first of all meant sailing upwind to Ferring to get out through the waves to get a good angle on getting past the pier.

Down at Shoreham only Nick the Farmer was out on big kit, and I then made the mistake of coming in and realised why no one else was out!

No wind on the inside and it was then really really tough getting back out through the white water and waves, just no speed. I think the sight of me having problems was enough to put the few that were thinking about going out off the idea. I did mention to them that if I couldn't get out could I get a lift back as they were thinking of coming up here anyway.

Eventually I managed to get out and was well powered up. A mate on a kite appeared who had kited down as well and together we had a good blast back, with me by the end opening up quite a gap between us GPS Track log here.

Anyway better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick - I do like a challenge!
