General Situation at 1800 UTC on Sun 27 Jul 2014

An area of low pressure over Scotland will lose its identity on Monday as it moves slowly southwards across England. A ridge of high pressure will then cross from the northwest before the next Atlantic frontal system comes southeastwards across all areas during Tuesday.

Cape Wrath to Rattray Head including Orkney

24 hour forecast: Variable mainly northwest 2 or 3, occasionally 4. Slight. Rain or thundery showers at first, fog patches around northeast Orkney. Moderate or good, occasionally poor, but occasionally very poor around northeast Orkney.

Outlook:  Variable mainly west or northwest 3 or 4, backing southwest 5 or 6. Slight, becoming moderate in far northwest later. Occasional rain or showers in far north otherwise mainly fair. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor at first.

Rattray Head to Berwick upon Tweed
